What skills and experience we're looking for

We have an exciting opportunity for a dedicated and enthusiastic individual to join our existing pastoral team as a Teaching Head of Year. The successful candidate will lead and manage staff and students in raising standards for behaviour, welfare rewards, achievement, punctuality and attendance across the relevant year group, in addition to their teaching commitments within their specialist subject area. Applicants from all curriculum areas are welcome, although a STEM background is desirable.

What the school offers its staff

We take staff and student wellbeing seriously and have invested time and money in ensuring that all members of our school feel supported and happy.“Leaders are mindful of staff’s workload. Staff enjoy working at the school and appreciate the training available to them.”(Ofsted, 2023).

As well as the opportunity to work at a recently awarded Ofsted Good School, we offer:

  • Professional development support and an extensive CPD programme
  • Early finish to the school timetable on Fridays
  • A paid personal day off each year
  • A well-developed programme for ECTs and NQTs to fully support you in your first years of teaching
  • Free use of onsite fitness suite, state of the art workshops and many other benefits.

Commitment to safeguarding

We are an equal opportunities employer and are committed to the safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children. The successful candidate will be subject to an enhanced DBS check.

All shortlisted candidates will be provided with a criminal history self-disclosure form to complete and return no later than one day prior to interview. Failure to return the self-disclosure will result in the interview being withdrawn.

Relevant criminal history will be shared with the chair of the recruitment panel prior to interview to allow time to assess relevance and agree what questions should be asked during the interview process.
