KS2/KS3 Class Teacher – Special Educational Needs (Ref: FH1219) job summary
Are you a class teacher with a passion for supporting pupils with SEMH needs? Are you nurturing, understanding and resilient? Do you want to feel valued, supported and part of a strong team?
Fern House School is a new special school for pupils aged 7 – 16. We promote and adopt approaches based on attachment theories and neurobiological research to provide our pupils with a supportive framework, which allows them to be heard and understood safely. Our highly adapted curriculum ensures that all pupils can engage in learning and achieve something to feel proud of. We are looking for an enthusiastic, hard-working, class-based teacher who is open to learning a modern approach to teaching pupils with social, emotional, mental health needs.At Fern House School, pupils are engaged with a creative curriculum, taught by trusted teaching staff who are able to be flexible in their approach to meet the needs of the pupils and offer integrated sensory breaks for pupils when required. We have a shared, consistent whole school approach to behaviour management, which is clear, easy-to-follow and fair.
We understand the importance of building meaningful relationships with pupils and families to nurture growth and development of relational milestones such as, building trust and sharing enjoyment. Care and making connections are at the heart of our ethos and we work hard to ensure that all staff feel cared for too.
