What skills and experience we're looking for

We are looking for an exceptional KS 2 Class Teacher and English Lead at Turves Green Primary School. Duties will include: -

  • To lead, manage and develop the staff knowledge and pedagogy in English across all phases.
  • To ensure consistently high quality of teaching, effective use of resources and the highest standards of learning and achievement for all pupils across school.
  • To have an understanding of and ability to implement monitoring and evaluation.
  • To analyse data to evaluate English for the performance and achievement of pupil groups across school and be able to plan appropriate course/action for improvement.
  • To develop and deliver effective professional development for staff.
  • To be an excellent classroom practitioner, who can model, support and grow the teaching of English.
  • Communicating and consulting, in accordance with current guidance and circulars, with the parents of the pupils they are assigned to teach.
  • To provide a stimulating classroom environment which encourages pupils to become independent learners.
  • Assessing, recording, and reporting on the development, progress and attainment of pupils in their own class.
  • Be passionate about English.
  • Be committed to their own professional development.
  • Be an excellent communicator and team player, who works collaboratively and effectively with others.
  • To contribute effectively to the work of the Headteacher and Senior Leadership Team.
